‘Friday Night Lights’ Adrianne Palicki on her return and Emmy nominations
Adrianne Palicki will soon be calling another part of Texas home to film “Lone Star,” but she hasn’t forgotten “Friday Night Lights.”
“I’m in the final two episodes,” Palicki tells Zap2it. “It was amazing … a lot of the original cast came back and so you get to really say goodbye to everybody. It’s going to be emotional but it’s going to be really good.”
“Friday Night Lights” just wrapped production on Season 5, which will be the show’s last season. The final few weeks of taping came on the heels of Best Actor and Actress Emmy nominations for Kyle Chandler and Connie Britton, who anchor the show as Eric and Tami Taylor. Palicki tells us the feeling on set after the nominations came out was incredible.
“Finally! The feeling on that show once everybody got nominated was like, ‘It’s about time!” she laughs. “And to go out with that was so huge, it’s a good way.”
The final season of “Friday Night Lights” will air this fall on DirecTV and in the spring of 2011 on NBC. “Lone Star,” starring James Wolk, Jon Voight and Palicki, premieres Monday, Sept. 20 at 9 p.m. ET on FOX.
FOX, Vanity Fair Partner on First-Ever Promotion for “Lonestar”
Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) and Vanity Fair Magazine have launched a cross-platform partnership to promote the network’s compelling new drama series, LONE STAR. For the first time ever, Vanity Fair will include a special DVD insert of a network pilot in the magazine. The DVD, featuring the premiere episode of LONE STAR as well as a trailer for the upcoming 20th Century Fox film “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps,” will be included in the October issue. In addition, the full-length premiere will be available to users who purchase and download the October issue through Vanity Fair’s iPad app.

Confirmed: Adrianne Returning to FNL
I am so very excited to have this confirmed!
Two more Friday Night Lights all-stars are headed back to Dillon for the show’s probable endgame: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Adrianne Palicki (Tyra) and Taylor Kitsch (Tim) have finalized deals to appear in multiple episodes of the drama’s fifth and likely final season (slated to premiere on DirecTV next fall).
I’m told Palicki will guest in next season’s last two episodes, while Kitsch has signed on for the final four.
The news follows my earlier scoop that another original Panther, Zach Gilford (Matt), is returning for four episodes (including the finale). Gilford’s onscreen BFF, Jesse Plemons, is also in talks to appear in the swan song. And last but certainly not least, Scott Porter’s coming back for episode 7, but that’s old news.

Release of Red Dawn remake gets delayed… indefinitely?
As we recently heard, some members of the Chinese press aren’t too happy about the country’s depiction as invaders in the RED DAWN remake.
Turns out they may not have a movie to worry about — the update of the kid-guerrilla classic was originally scheduled for release in November, but as of now it’s nowhere in sight.
No, the studio didn’t flinch after the negative feedback. In truth, there’s not really a studio at the moment — RED DAWN was an MGM production. And MGM’s widely publicized problems means that until the studio stabilizes and/or its existing projects find a new home, the movie is in limbo. As the LA Times claims, “no one knows when the movie will ever be released”.
The 1984 John Milius flick starred Patrick Swayze and Charlie Sheen leading a group of Colorado teens battling an invasion by Russian and Cuban armies. The new version (which has Chinese military as the antagonists) stars Chris “Thor” Hemsworth, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Josh Hutcherson, Isabel Lucas, Adrianne Palicki, Josh Peck and Connor “Son of Tom” Cruise.
